Post: Co-Hosts Q&A Forum

Hi Everyone!

I recently launched my co-hosting business and have been researching the markets in San Diego daily to be as prepared as possible for my first clients. I’m also starting to attend local meetups this week, posting on forums, and telling my network about the business to get my name out there.

My question here is for anyone who has co-hosted or currently co-hosts: what is one piece of advice you wish you had gotten before starting your journey?

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies, this community is amazing!

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this industry and would love to get some assistance in understanding the ins and outs of cohosting for AirBnB. I was hoping I could get in touch with someone who would be willing to mentor me. In exchange, I would be happy to help with anything that you are comfortable allowing me to assist with in the management of your cohosted properties.

I know that many people ask for help, want things from others, but aren't willing to reciprocate. I would be more than happy to assist in any way I can to be just as much of a benefit to you, as you are to me and my journey!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to 2024!

Post: Brand New - Excited to Learn

Hi everyone!
I am new to the real estate investing world. So far, I have worked in real estate in a variety of ways (as an agent, as a property manager, owning my own property), but never in the investing world.

Outside of real estate, I have lots of experience building and managing teams and businesses. I have scaled teams from 2 to 1200 team members, developed leaders, managed businesses and financials, and more. I am excited to take all that I have learned and done and bring it to my new world of real estate investing!

I am specifically looking to jump into the short-term rental industry with AirBnB. I have been learning about co-hosting and would love to use my knowledge from my experiences and everything I am learning now to assist owners/hosts with their businesses.

Wish me luck on my journey!

Post: First Home Purchase

Investment Info:

Condo buy & hold investment.

Purchase price: $270,000
Cash invested: $15,000

After purchasing my first home and renovating the space, my wife and I made this our first investment in our portfolio. We loved this experience in learning how to purchase, rehab and rent a home. However, the community this is located in is unable to allow short term rentals, so it will continue to be a buy and hold property for long term rentals.

Lessons learned? Challenges?

Being incredibly new to this whole process, there were plenty of things we learned. We learned about financing, about how much everything costs, how to work with different vendors and rehab a home, what brings value and what doesn't and so much more!

Did you work with any real estate professionals (agents, lenders, etc.) that you'd recommend to others?

Michael at Cross Country Mortgage was incredible!
