Hi guys!

I’m working on analyzing property at the moment, and would love if someone could point me in the right direction!

I understand how to analyze from what Brandon has written in his books, but obviously that is all to do with America!

Is there any differences in what to include while analyzing property in Australia.. as in any expenses I should include or not include when comparing to the US?

I hope this makes sense, and any help would be terrific!

My post wasn’t very clear so I apologize. I’m not looking to invest in the U.S.. not for now anyway. Just want to start local. I just find BP awesome, but not sure how much of the info I can apply here in Aus with all the differences!

If you’re free for a couple hours when you’re here in December I’d love to catch up for a coffee or something? (Hopefully I’ll be a bit more clued up by then, haha). No pressure!

Okay, awesome! When I eventually get to go and see a solicitor I shall ask about those points you have made!

I just read in a book, that if you get sued on one of your investment properties.. none of your personal assets are at risk. I’ve only really scratched the surface with structuring, so I could be talking rubbish, but I shall investigate further.

Hi there! My name is Adam. I live in Adelaide, Australia.

Have been a part of biggerpockets for only a week now and I’m loving the content here! Love what you guys are doing. I’m actually reading Brandon Turner’s ‘the book on rental property investing’ and there is so much good stuff in it, I’m just concerned because it’s based in America that a lot of parts are different here in Aus! 

My main question is: Is it crucial to buy a property through a trust? 

I read one Steve McKnight’s books as he is in Australia, and he talks quite a bit about it and I haven’t heard anything about trusts here on biggerpockets, so I’m not sure if it’s different over there or not.

Would love to have a chat to any investors here in Australia, if there are any on biggerpockets!

Anyway, I could write a few pages with questions, but I’d just like to network with people in America and/or Australia! I wish there was something like this page in Australia!
