I’m hoping this was a one-off as that doesn’t seem right at all. Even if there was a legitimate reason to remove your post, leaving posts in the same thread with name-calling is problematic. I’m new to BP and not sure what thread it is so I haven’t seen it but name-calling has been a clear no-no on every forum I’ve ever been on. And I’ve been on forums for 20 years…

I have been lingering a few days, and I figured I should make a post to at least introduce myself. So, hello from the Twin Cities!
Right now, I'm coming to the end of a debt payoff journey. My dad did a lot for me growing up. Teaching me financial literacy was not one of those things. I saw from a young age that, if you want something, you could just get money from the bank. Additionally, it took me far too long to learn better. So, I spent my 20s living above my means and building a mountain of debt. I've spent the last 18 months working a side gig to deal with that and am proud that I've been able to pay off over $50k in personal debt without any bankruptcy, liens, or lawsuits. Now I'm on to the next step: covering the tax bill from my side gig, saving, and repairing my credit. I estimate that will take about 8-10 months to get where I want to be.
Through this journey, I've realized I needed to think about money differently and actually build wealth. I'm lucky to have a stable government job with a decent salary. So, right now, I'm learning: to live below my means, to save better, to invest, to build wealth. I came across BP - and the resources and community here are just so vast and meaningful, I had to join. Excited to be here and to just soak it all in!
