Thanks Mike, you are correct. The lease spells that landlord insurance does not cover renters personal stuff, so a renters insurance should be taken. They even agree that my response was timely and the delay beyond my control because of national shortages of refrigerators etc. However, they insist that they incurred expenses because of refrigerator, and since its my responsibility to provide one..I am indirectly responsible for this cost. Implying ultimately its a judge discretion how they interpret this clause.

All in all it was 20 day process, which tenant knew very well...he is claiming food etc. whats my responsibility.
