@Erika Stokes - I have 3 single family rentals in unincorporated DeKalb (inside the perimeter in the East Lake/Belvedere area) and two in my Tennessee hometown. I went on a buying jag in 2015, and am working hard to let the dust settle in 2016 -- with so many ideas and opportunities, it's hard to hold back!

Awesome, that's a fantastic answer. I love how it is focused on making things better for other people- your family mainly, but also others in general who cannot help themselves. I sense the good in you (Sorry, I'm a huge Star Wars fan and... yeah.)

As far as my "why" I love helping people. I get excited about how many different ways there are in this world to make a difference. Real Estate can be a way to make a huge impact on someone's life, but you can also make a huge impact on people just by spending time and playing with them. (Also, I just realized that we can attach pictures to comments and I just have to ask why doesn't anyone ever use photos in their posts?? So here's a photo of me in a moment where I feel like I'm living my "why.")

Hopefully I can make other people happy in every area of my life.

I don't have a ton to contribute at this point, but I believe strongly in "giving what you can" so here's a question that I was asked a lot as a newbie investor that has helped point me in a healthy direction:

What is your "Why" for real estate investing?

Just respond back with all the reasons you can think of that have put you where you are at right now. There are no wrong answers. But the more you get used to answering that question, the more you understand what questions to ask, and what to focus on. I personally think its great when people ask me my motivation. I think "Ah! More practice." Its even fun sometimes to try and state your "Why" as poetically as possible.
