@Doug Merriott I will be in town next week I would definitely love to set something up. I can reach out to you once I am there and I have an idea exactly what my schedule will look like.

Everyone thanks for the advice and please keep it coming, I am really interested in doing my first investment in Florida. Actually met an investor from here at my branch today he invested in port st lucie and San Juan but I prefer the west.

I am a newbie to Biggerpockets and I am already an owner of a rental property here in Providence,RI which was originally my main residence at one point (got it with an FHA loan a few years back and moved out). I am going to visit Tampa soon to visit a friend and also to look at some condo's that are supposedly selling at real low prices...

My question is, is anyone familiar with real estate in Tampa? I hear the city has been picking up steam and I find it to be a good opportunity to invest in. I really want to get into real estate and make it my full time gig rather than being a branch manager at a bank.

Any advice would definitely help. I have been looking at properties from 20-50k and have 11k capital but can borrow from my 401k need be.
