Congrats on starting! I recommend you starting to get a trusted team together. General contractors, electricians, plumbers, etc. before even purchasing. Join some Facebook groups involving those positions and take notes on who is posting regularly AND has proof to back up their quality of work. Start a conversation with them and build that relationship. No matter how great of a deal you have on a property, if you don't have a good team standing behind you, you have a higher chance of loosing money.

My recommendation: Hire a professional to take care of it. It might be expensive, but god forbid you clean it up yourself, finish the rehab, then it comes back. Mold can be incredibly hard to get rid of, but it is better to have it professionally cleaned and move on from there.
