@Kyle Joseph you can buy a test for around 20 bucks that you have to send out or just ask the seller. I would imagine the seller knows what it is, if it's in good shape I'm pretty sure you could cover it up with vinyl siding but I'd check on that too.

In Massachusetts the deal is usually the defendant (husband in this case) isn't allowed contact and must stay away within a certain amount of feet, something like 1000 feet. many times the judge has the defendant surrender keys but It all depends on what the judge says. like others have said it really has nothing to do with you and she may even have protection from you throwing her out. The security deposit is up.to the court not you. I'd stay out of it

the install is wrong on every level and can't tell if it's drywall or not because I'm getting old and blind. the joints should always be staggered and the tape looks non existent. you'd have to redo it either way but it probably has nothing to do with structural problems

Very likely there is asbestos in those shingles. I'd really check it out before you dive in. I see them all the time out here in western ma.

if it's more than 2 units the landlord is responsible for snow removal. not sure about owner occupied though. on a side note, you may want to go ahead and make sure all the sidewalks are clear because that's on you if someone takes a dive.

Probably no big deal unless the deck is large and on the second story. You can always go look at the deck yourself and see if it's anything obvious like no railing (if over 30 inches from grade) or bad framing and such.

Yeah don't do it yourself or just any handyman. Probably gonna have to put a header of some kind in it, and it's gonna cost you some bucks. I don't know about where you live but yoh might need an engineer to sign off on the design.

the Wedi system is pretty nice to work with, the shower bases are very expensive. the bases can be cut to size but measure twice and cut once because you don't want to screw it up. You also need to cut the channel to accept the curb correctly if you do modify the base. If you aren't used to planning ahead and taking your time then I'd recommend not modifying the base. Use the caulk they recommend as well. I've installed many Wedi showers and it's what I recommend to clients. That being said, in my own home where I am adding a bathroom I'm building my own base and not using Wedi because I'm cheap! no matter what you use, make sure everything is square level and plumb. As with anything, it's all in the prep.

@Kristen Ray the town has records of all permits pulled for a property and the land card reflects changes in layout or footprint. so adding a bathroom for example, would result in a discrepancy if not permitted and could result in issues when you sell. they can make you tear the work apart
