@Matthew Smuts I agree that Jeremy Pace, Allegheny Remodel, is trouble. I guess he was off doing your job, when he stopped responding to me about my job. Ironically, I did do an online review search for him and called his references. They gave glowing reviews. One was an investor he had done multiple jobs for. Anyway, even with all this vetting, Jeremy still screwed me!! I'm sorry you got screwed as well.
I'm an out of state investor, and he "seemed" to be doing a great job for me. In the beginning he was very responsive, and we put a good contract in place. Then about 2 months ago he got less responsive (he was doing your job, I guess, LOL). He was renovating an old triplex for me. I thought we were about 80% done with the job (based on his statements and the draw schedule), and we found out my roof was leaking (it's so old) and needed to be replaced. I gave him a 50% deposit on the roof and he disappeared on me a few weeks after that. No materials, no roof.
I flew out to Pittsburgh this week to check on the triplex and to interview new contractors (just got back yesterday). He was not nearly as far along as he led me to believe, and the work he had done was ok, but not the standard I had expected. His crew was not well supervised and ruined the flooring they had put in. Then, it started storming, and my roof was leaking in several places into the units. I am so frustrated. I'm out $10-15k with him between the roof deposit and the work I'm going to have to redo/finish.
Anyway, I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General of PA, and I have an attorney going after him. If you want his address PM me. I actually drove by his house to find out what happend, but he wasn't home.
