@William T Carey good luck with your offer and thanks for the advice on NH vs. ME.  Property taxes certainly are an important consideration.

Funny you should mention those towns, that's actually where I've looking around.  Also Somersworth, Dover and Rochester NH.

@Michael Webster I hadn't really thought about the vacation rental market ironically (being in the hotel business).  Thinking more about buy and hold three or four family units.  Although with all the new rental units coming on line in the greater Portland area sustainable rent levels is a concern.  Real estate prices are pretty aggressive,  particularly east of I-95.  The deals are out there, just have to find them, right?

@Michael Webster I'm looking toward multifamily in Southern Maine (Cumberland or York county) or south seacoast NH.  Also considering northeast Ohio - greater Cleveland as my wife's family is from the area and i know the city pretty well.  Thanks for asking!

Hello Bigger Pockets,

I'm Aaron Perkins from York, Maine and have begun to explore diversifying my portfolio to include different forms of income producing real estate.  I currently own commercial property in Ogunquit (a hotel and a commercial rental) but would like to expand into multi family.  I have a background in architecture (B. Arch) so design and construction are areas of expertise for me, so doing flips isn't out of the question either.  Would just need to be the right flip for me.  Looking forward to learning more here!
