I am a big fan of the pre-fab quartz counters, I am not sure where they are made but I can get them here in San Francisco Area for ~$200 per 2'x9' counter with finished edge.  They look nice and modern when installed.  If you do a top mount sink you can have your contractor cut the sink holes very easy as it is a softer material.   I did have one chip recently, but it was easy to fill in.   We also use the same material in the baths and they come with the sink holes cut for under mount sink.  If you can tweak your layouts the pre-fab stuff is great.

Count me in for the meet up this Friday!

I am relatively new to BP, Does anyone know of meet ups on the Peninsula  I would love to connect with some folks investing in the Redwood City area also.
