Hello Biggerpockets!

I have been introduced to this community by a friend from another message board. After much soul searching and 3-4 years of investment research in other areas (stocks, bonds, commodities, etc) I finally mustered up the courage to get started in REI. I am a brand new investor from Suffolk County, NY.

I have been a big fan of personal finance podcasts and forums, after mention of REI on many episodes/posts I have realized that although initially intimidating REI is something I would like to get into long term. I am hear to learn as much as possible over the coming months as I save some starting capital from my W-2 job in B2B sales to get started.

If anyone has some recommended resources specific to my geo (REIA meetings, groups, etc) I would love to hear them. I am looking to get my feet wet by the end of this calendar year, but want to do so with a much better understanding and education of REI than I currently have.

Look forward to learning, interacting, and eventually paying it forward.

Warm Regards,

Paul
