My father runs a direct mail postcard business. He strictly works with real estate agents right now but I believe he can add a lot of value to wholesalers. I know he is the lowest cost customization postcard in the business (strategy aims for volume).

Would my best option  be going through an agent to find a duplex? I want to buy right and will only have 30-60 days once I know where I am living to find a duplex if that is the path I gravitate towards.

Thanks for your response. Do you mean buying the entire duplex and renting out one side?

Hey everyone,

I am in my last semester at Ohio State University looking to learn before I dive into investing. It is my hope to get into wholesaling and investing once I graduate (too many legal barriers to wholesale in Ohio). My first inclination is to buy my first apartment once I move instead of rent. I will not know where I will be placed for work until 30-60 days before I start. Does purchasing an apartment make financial sense? Will I have enough time to find a good deal and buy right? Is there anything I should consider that I am missing?
