Getting Started with Biggerpockets.com Forums

The backbone of Biggerpockets information sharing is held within the Forums section of this social networking site.

Once logged into biggerpockets you have several catagories to choose from:

3419

Today's post will give us an introduction to using Forums:

3422

There are four options to choose from right away. We will talk about navigation later.

Recent Discussions: This is the repository for all active discussions going on right now. If just starting out take a look here and see if there is a topic that you are interested in. If you are just starting out, contribute to discussions, don't answer questions with a sales pitch. You have to give on this and every community to receive.

My Discussions: This view will give you a view of all of the discussion threads that you have started. This is not a list of all discussions you have contributed to.

Unanswered: This is an excellent view. This gives you a fantastic opportunity to answer someone's question. They are coming to this group for help, or insight. Look around for topics that you can contribute to and help build the community here with good answers.

My Watched Topics:  Now here is where you can see a list of all discussions you have contributed to, with one catch. You have to check the box that says "Monitor Topic" at the top. That will add the discussion to this view.

Just a brief intro into the forum's view. Let me know what you think. Next topic will be navigating the new Forum list that was recently implemented.
