Introduction to my real estate career

Hey everyone.  As my first post I'll go ahead and share my real estate story and how I got to where I am today (not that far yet haha).  It all started when my dad, who is not a real estate investor, suggested I read Rich Dad Poor Dad.  Super original, I know haha.  So I read the book and instantly was thinking, "Yes, this is what I need to do."  Since then I have read about almost every niche of real estate.  Analysis paralysis-ing myself I suppose.  I have a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Physics and a M.S. in aerospace engineering so I like to know every last bit about everything.  It's a gift and a curse.  I eventually settled on multifamily for my buy and hold home style of choice.  But I took a job in the SF Bay Area working in aerospace and multifamily homes in the area go for roughly $800,000, at least on zillow style sites.  So even 3.5% for an FHA loan would mean I would need to save for years.  So I decided I needed to raise capital and looked into wholesaling.  I read a few wholesale books and was about to start to read the flipping books so that I could understand the costs when I listened to the Seth Williams BP podcast on land investing.  I decided to look into it more and came to the conclusion I might have better luck there than trying to get into the Bay Area SFR wholesaling world.  I plan to scale that land investing business as well as possible, 4-hour work week style.  Then begin wholesaling, hopefully bird dogging for a local multifamily investor to learn the ropes and find my first deal.   I believe that having the wholesaling skill set will make my first few investments, the ones that really need to be slam dunks, home runs.

I think thats a good intro for today.  I'll be continuing to blog in order to share my thoughts, hopefully some people can spot anything crazy that I might be doing by accident, and build some credibility on the forums.

Happy investing!
