The Texas real estate market

Today Texas has become one of the best places to live simply because of several factors. The state offers high employment rates, quality education and healthcare services, and lower property rates compared to some other states on average. When looking back to last year the number of family homes has gone up to about 4%. Even the median price for buying homes has pretty much remained the same from the previous year, and this is a very positive sign for buying property in Texas.

Texas has also been named by many news channels such as CNN as one of the best and fastest states to recover from the real estate crisis. This indirectly reflects the strength of the economy of the Lone Star state. Due to a strong combination of multi talented workforces, low costs of living, high quality of life, and a very competitive business climate. Another large factor is that the tax credits have been extended for the military, and since Texas has numerous military bases this will give the state more home buyers helping to promote the real estate market even further. Additionally, interest rates on home loans have also been encouraging as rates continue to stay as low as 5%.

If you are planning a move to Texas it is best to hire the services of a real estate agent. REALTORS® can help you when deciding whether to buy or rent a property. Texas REALTORS® adhere to a strict code of ethics and will belong to the local and national Board of REALTORS® thereby giving you confidence in your real estate transaction. Make sure you contact at least 2 to 3 REALTORS® in order to interview and find one that you will be comfortable working with. If you have friends or family in Texas ask for recommendations as to whom they have used in the past, and ask if they would use them again. However, if you are new to Texas then the process of selecting a real estate agent will not be as easy. You can look for a Texas real estate agent online or in local publications. Their contact details should be listed and mentioned so that you may give them a call in order to do an interview.

A good Texas real estate agent will not take advantage of your lack of knowledge in the local market. They will ask numerous questions in order to understand your wants, and then show you properties based on your answers. They will be able to shorten the list of properties that they think are suitable for you so that your time is not wasted looking at properties that don’t suit your budget, and requirements. The time to buy real estate in Texas is now, so don't let this opportunity pass you by.

When beginning your hunt for real estate in San Antonio or the surrounding areas, Voss Realty is a well established real estate agency. They can assist you in all matters related to buying your residential or commercial property, and even Texas ranches.  Contact us today for your private consultation.
