Ten questions that can reveal truths about your real estate agent

This can be one of the biggest mistakes a buyer or seller makes when selecting a REALTOR. In comparison to the common belief that all real estate agents are professionals in the industry, and equal. There are individuals who study continuously to better understand all the laws and rules relative to their work. They take continuing education on laws, regulations that will have an effect on the deals and contracts they may acquire in the future, and then there are those who do not. Furthermore, brokers are very much more knowledgeable of the housing industry.

It's surprising how some REALTORS think that it is possible to work in the real estate business as a part-time job, and expect the full benefits for their services. It should be remembered that the property industry is a huge field and REALTORS have networks that must be kept. This connection not only involves buyers/sellers of the past and future, but more importantly of people in the industry. REALTORS build connections with each other. This is for their own benefit, but also allows for a greater possibility in advertising or spread the word.

Like in all industries, there are also many types of real estate agents in all parts of the US. There are agents who are very effective working very hard, and some who just take it as a pastime.

Below are some questions that you may ask when interviewing your real estate agent.

 1. What is the length of the agent’s experience?
The length of service may say many things about a REALTOR. Through asking this question, you are actually permitted to look into the past of the agent and see through facial expression, tone, and gestures whether there is credibility or cunning.

 2. What is the length of the agent’s residence at their location?
This is a great question to ask REALTORS who live within the approximate location of the property they’re selling. Asking this question forces the real estate agent to give information about the location and any possible hidden issues.

 3. How long has the agent been with the same company?
This question is similar to most human resource inquiries. It’ll aid in determining the person’s faith to the company he’s working with. It can also open up truths about the REALTORS past jobs.

 4. How many homes is the agent working on?
This question can can aid in knowing if the REALTOR can be present every time you might need help. This can also help in learning if the real estate agent can be trusted. Being given lots of merchandise indicates that clients believe in the person.

 5. How many buyers and sellers is the REALTOR currently working with?
Like in the fourth 4th question, this inquiry helps in knowing if the agent will have enough time for you when you are in need. With this information you can also adjust your own schedule with the REALTORS if necessary.

 6. What kind of agent are they?
By inquiring, you will be told of the limit of the real estate agents role and the service they may extend to you.

 7. Does the agent have a team?
By asking if the agent has a group or team, you’ll see if the agent is good in cooperating with others or in doing multiple duties by themselves.

 8. What types of marketing services do they offer?
This question will help in knowing the limits of your potential REALTOR.

 9. Affiliation with the National Association of Realtors (NAR)
This is a good question as it can tell you if the prospective agent is a good REALTOR. Although connections are considered minor things by others, there is still good information that may be gathered from it. Excellent associations indicate excellent service.

 10. Is the agent’s real estate license current?
This is a significant question to ask in order to ensure that you won’t be entering a scam or fraud. You would be surprised how many REALTORS have let their license expire, yet still conduct business.

The given are just some of the questions that can be asked to your prospective real estate agent. For people who already have answers to the above questions then you probably have a reliable representative working for you. This is good for an experienced REALTOR is sure to take care of you and will act according to your best interest.
