How the Pandemic Did, and Didn’t, Change Where Americans are Moving

Over the course of 2020, 30 million change-of-address requests to the U.S. Postal Service were processed. And according to this New York Times article - other than a large increase in the movement of urban residents out of New York and San Francisco (two regions with a high number of jobs that can be done remotely) - migration patterns didn't waver that dramatically. The takeaway: more people moved to the same areas that people were already flocking to (ahem, Boise).

Kuna Shopping Center (Outdoor): Construction Plans & Opening Date Solidified

According to this Idaho Press article, Kuna is apparently about to debut a seasonal outdoor shopping center. This pop-up village will "consist of 120-square-foot mini retail shops, produce stands and plaza areas where the community can congregate, shop, feature local art, enjoy food trucks and host concerts and special events." It is currently scheduled to open on May 21 - and will be open Fri-Sun from June 4 - Sept 26th. To learn more, click here.

Food & Wine Chooses Recognizes Boise Pizzeria as having the Best Pizza in Idaho

Best pizza in the whole state, you say? Wow... as any pizza connoisseur knows, the very notion of "crowning" a champion in the field will be met with skepticism. It's just too subjective, sillyheads! Nonetheless, this is a fun article highlighting this year's victor (Casanova). Now located at 2431 W Fairview Ave. And while this location just opened in March - it's important to recognize that the pizzeria was a pretty legendary staple on Vista Ave for over a decade.. so it's reopening was certainly met with open arms (and huge appetites). If you haven't tried their pie yet, be sure to get add it to your list!

#Idahug Campaign Aims to Change Narrative Surrounding Growth in the Treasure Valley

It's no secret that many aren't thrilled about Boise's rapid growth. Two Idahoans are trying to change the narrative with a social media campaign deemed #Idahug (and no, direct contact - i.e. HUGGING - is not involved). Placing magnets on cars without Idaho license plates, they are hoping to change the tone a bit - and we're all for it!

Fish and Game to stock more than 400,000 rainbow trout in Idaho waters

Fishers rejoice (again - yay!) - we included an article last month about the Fish & Game stocking an abundance of rainbow trout - and that number just keeps increasing. According to this new article there are currently an additional 420,000 catchable sized rainbow trout headed to Idaho waters (nearly twice as many as were stocked in April).
