According this Idaho Statesman article, home prices in the Boise metropolitan area rose at a faster rate than any other of the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the country (over the 12 months ending in September). And it wasn’t just Boise, the state of Idaho topped all 50 states and the District of Columbia with an increase of 11.6%. Arizona and Maine were next at 7.9%, following by Utah at 7.8%. The article goes on to mention a recent Boise Regional Realtors report which showed that the median price of homes sold across Ada County during the month of October was $352,000 (which was up $2,000 from September, but $3,000 less than the record-setting $355,000 in August). In addition to the new homes, the project is slated to include a fire station (to be built by the Eagle Fire Department), a commercial center, a community center, a community farm, trails and other amenities. While the Ada County Board of Commissioners voted it in unanimously, this development is certainly not without controversy. Check out all of the details here.
