Planning, focus and being learning based

I learned a few things about myself today. We purchased 3 properties and could have gone for 5 but a little voice inside me stopped me from moving forward on the other two. They just didnt feel right. FINALLY After 25 years in this business I stopped myself. My problem as with many others who are driven to succeed is they want to just hit the ground running and figure that pure drive, effort and tenacity will get them to their final destination. It wont. There is a book called "Think and Grow Rich"  Notice the title isn't "Work hard, dont plan, roll the dice and Get Rich". Read or listen to this book and more than once. Get yourself a mentor and surround yourself with smart trustworthy advisers.

Slow down. There is always another deal. There are always other opportunities. If it doesn't feel right then pass. My goal to buy 120 homes a year is within reach but I still have a ways to go. Buying 3-4 a month is a far cry from buying  10 a month. ESPECIALLY if  I want to buy profitable and quality real estate. Hell if I wanted to I could knock out ten a month but in one year I would own an entire portfolio of nothing but headaches and probably cost myself a lot of money crawling out of the hole i managed to dig in a short time.

Baby steps. Plan. Be focused. Always be learning.
