Jumping Off The Cliff
Welcome to the first blog post of the REHAB REALITY!
I wanted to give the new investors out there a place to go for all things Rehab. I will be writing this blog as often as possible with the successes, setbacks and everything that goes with Rehabbing. I hope you follow my writings if you have any interest in Rehabbing a home or several a year.
What I find to be evident from my own experience and those that I speak to from BiggerPockets and local REIA groups is that new investors want to put down the books and turn off the podcasts and actually Do Something. When these new investors get to this point they have usually read several books, some books multiple times and have listened to Podcasts repeatedly as well. However, there is something missing...something that is preventing these individuals from Jumping off the Cliff on their first Rehab deal. What it comes down to in my mind is the fact that reading a book or listening to a podcast is quite different from writing a check from your account to close on a house. The emotional O Crap factor from writing that check and everything that goes along with it is preventing people from achieving their goals.
One way for people to jump off the cliff is to hold someone's hand....the feeling that you're not alone in this...you have someone to help you figure everything out...if it does implode it isn't only imploding on you feeling hinder progress. Find someone that has experience with Rehabs and work with them. If you're a newbie...you need to bring something to the table...no I'm not talking about numerous questions.....I'm talking about cash for a deal. The fact of the matter is that experienced investors don't need you....they get asked to "show people the ropes all the time."
Bottom Line.....New Investors - Take someone's hand to take the leap and bring something to the table for the individual showing you the ropes....it will be a learning experience for sure and can financially change your life.
