My 6 Month Business Goal
I've been doing a lot of work since I started my new job in real estate to improve (read: overhaul) my mindset. Setting and using goals is a large part of my tool kit to accomplish this. My goal below is lofty, especially considering I had no real sales experience prior to starting my new job. Regardless, with the support of my bosses/team, I will hit it come October 31st!
I figured putting it out for the BP community to see couldn't do anything but give me more motivation to achieve this goal. I will work my a** off now, so I can report crushing my goal in my first blog post of November 2017!
I am a salesperson responsible for buying residential real estate properties in the San Diego area through our direct marketing arm. Therefore, my goal is to close 20 deals a month or 5 deals a week. I will achieve this goal in 6 months, and my first 20 deal month will be October 2017.
I want to make $15,000 in commission and I want to make my company the most successful real estate investment company in San Diego.
To ensure that I achieve my goals I must commit 100% and take massive action by doing the following:
1)I will wake up every day at 6 am.
2)I will work at least 60 hours a week.
3)I will make and take 500 calls a week – roughly 70 calls a day or 100 calls per “workday.” I will record myself via video and the audio of the call whenever possible.
4)I will find, hone and perfect my peak state till it is razor sharp. I will create anchors that allow me to get into my peak state whenever necessary.
5)I will improve my voice to be the best it can be. I will go from the occasional mumbling or stuttering to perfectly smooth speech and enunciation. I will go from an often soft, unenergetic and unsure voice to a strong, lively and reassuring voice. I will master my tonality. I will do all of this by taking in-person voice lessons and online voice lessons, taking acting lessons, and taking Alpha Brain.
6)I will study and absorb as much useful sales materials/training as I can. Specifically, from Jordan Belfort, Grant Cardone and John Martinez.
7)I will invest in myself as much and as often as I can to better my selling abilities. When possible, I will upgrade my business phone, buy a sales headset, buy a video camera to record myself, buy online sales training classes and attend seminars and conferences.
8)I will learn as much as I can about real estate in San Diego by earning my CA Salesperson License, regularly speaking with those I work with, thoroughly researching and understanding every closed property/deal, meeting with at least 20 BiggerPockets members or other real estate investors in San Diego.
9)I will create content for our websites. The digital content will include videos, podcasts, articles. The offline content will include physical marketing materials.
10)I will establish a social media presence dedicated to marketing for my company and my personal brand This includes writing at least 2 blog posts a month for my BiggerPockets website.
11)I will read at least one book a month and listen to at least one audiobook a month. Both will be related to sales and or business.
12)I will review this goal daily, I will keep the essence with me always, I will perform the visualization exercises Jordan recommends until the image of me achieving my goal is burned into my mind.
13)I will make necessary sacrifices, but I will always make time to give Grizzly the best life I can.
When I achieve my goal by October 31st, 2017, I will celebrate and reward myself by buying an all new wardrobe worth $7,500. This wardrobe will include:
- 2 custom suits: 1 will be a pale/light blue linen suit for the summer and 1 will be a dark charcoal grey suit made of light wool for the winter.
- 1 custom fit blazer that will be 100% unique.
- 5 pairs of pants: 2 custom-fit chinos, 2 custom-fit dress paints and 1 pair of custom-fit denim.
- 5 crisp, white short-sleeve button down shirts
- 5 perfectly fitting, white button down shirts.
- 3 Pairs of Adidas NMDs: 1 all black pair, 1 all white pair, and 1 unique colorway
- 1 pair of all white common project like dress/casual shoes
- 1 pair of all black dress loafers.
- 3 light jackets: 1 bomber, 1 rain jacket and 1 hoodie.
- 10 pairs of MeUndies
- 6 pairs of Adidas socks with the old logo, 6 pairs of new “fun socks” and 6 pairs of black polo dress socks.

This is inspiring! It's very Think and Grow Rich-esque. I like how you've explicitly written down your goal, the timeframe, and what you will give up to get there. Also, it's good to have a reward planned. I usually don't think about the reward until the end, but I like your approach as it's motivating.
You'll have to post pictures of the new suits!
