World Automobile Auctioneers Championship to be held in Chicago

to be held in Chicago. Notably 100 of the world’s best auctioneers will be ready to compete. Three categories of competition including Auctioneer, Team and Ringman will take at least three lanes leading to a championship.

by Peppi Hull: Hoffman Estates, Illinois is the location of the upcoming World Automobile Auctioneers Championship. The excitement and fellowship will begin at 8am on Friday, May 4th.

In fact, the World Automobile Auctioneers Championship (WAAC) got its start by Bob “Punjo” Reed. The singer of country music founded the WAAC in 1989. However, seven years later, after purchasing it, ownership became that of Scotty and Nancy Gray. After enjoying nine successful years, new ownership came again in 2005. To prominent auctioneer Paul C. Behr.

Notably, year after year the WAAC has been welcoming auctioneers from all over the country. Upon completing one competition meet, attendees are eagerly anticipating the next. Each year impressive auctioneers exude incredible camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Also, the years have given us some magnificent past champions. Starting the list is the first champion Mike Lambert from Kirksville, Missouri. Some champions through the decades include:

•Ray Reams of London, KY in 1990

•Mark Buleziuk of Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada in 1995

•Barry Wichert of Bethany, OK in 2000

•Spanky Assiter of Canyon, TX in 2005

•Charles Adcock of Newton, PA in 2010

•Bobby D. Ehlert of Phoenix, AZ in 2015
