Future in Real Estate
I'm not sure if I'm cut out to be a real estate investor, full-time. I just completed my internship with a rehabbing company. We didn't close on a deal the whole time. The market here is just completely insane! It's not that we weren't finding properties, or we weren't putting in offers. We were putting in like 10 offers a week, some weeks. All of our offers were outright rejected, or were outbid by other investors. Insane! The competition is fierce here.
I think that I want to go the route of a part-time investor - just focusing on picking up rental properties, while working a full-time job that I like. I already kind of have one lined up, so I think this plan will work better for me. Not getting paid for 3 months, and not getting paid in the foreseeable future is not really what I need right now.
I'm really grateful for the experience, and would still recommend new investors, who can afford it, go the route that I went. Learning from the feet of an experienced investor, and learning her systems was priceless. I know that I will be able to apply the knowledge that I learned into my future in RE investing.
