Motivational Monday - Do you need to adjust your point of view?

A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, and it sparks extraordinary results. Wade Boggs

Sometimes, we fail because we expect to fail. We know that something isn’t going to work and so we don’t give it that extra push that it needs to succeed. On the other hand, there are people out there who know they are going to succeed and as a result, they do. They push and push and fight until they make it happen.

Is it possible, that just maybe, you aren’t succeeding because you don’t think you can? Sometimes, by adjusting our point of view and deciding that we are going to be successful, we are. When you decide that you are going to make something happen, you start to study a little harder, or you invest more time, or you hire a mentor/partner to train you. Any of those things can make you a little or a lot better at what you are doing. This is especially true in self-storage.

Sometimes you just need an extra push. Sometimes you just need to try talking to a seller a little differently. For example, you might want to ask them to sell to you 3 different ways during a conversation instead of just taking the first no for an answer. Knowing that you have to ask 3 times helps you to think about different ways that you can explain to them why selling their self-storage facility to you is a better idea than keeping it.

When you believe that you are the best option that a self-storage facility owner has, then you are better able to convince them that they should work with you. If you don’t believe that you are the best option, then you are not going to take the time to convince them to work with you and this is a critical component to your success.

If you don’t think that you are the best option, find a way to convince yourself that you are the best option and then wait and see what extraordinary results follow. As always, happy investing.
