What is Your Big Picture? Why are you Investing in Self-Storage?

Everyone has a reason that they do something. If we didn’t have a reason that we wanted to do something, we wouldn’t do it. Investing in self-storage is hard. It can take a minute. We’re in the crock pot business. This business can take time to build and sometimes it can take longer before you see big payouts. However, they come. While you are waiting for the benefits, you need to remember your “why”.

Why did you decide that you wanted to invest in self-storage? Is it because you wanted passive income in a great asset? Is it because you were tired of toilets? Is it because you wanted to retire early so that you had more time? You need to really focus on your why. This way when things get tough, and they will, you can hang on to your why and keep pressing forward.

Motivation will come and go. Some days you will be so motivated that you will be unstoppable. Other days you will put the covers back over your head and wonder why you ever thought this was a good idea. Your big picture is what will get you out of bed.

Take some time and write down why you are doing this. Keep asking yourself why until you are no longer able to break down that reason again. Once you know your ultimate why, then you need to write it down somewhere you can see it. This way, when you get discouraged, your big picture goal will remind you to keep going.

There will be times when this gets hard, but you will make it past those hard times. You need the right education and mentors to get you past some of the bumps in the road. Make sure that you have a good team in place to help you. As always, happy investing.
