12 Podcasts About Investing and Owning Rentals

These days I don't have much extra time, and yet learning and becoming more educated is a top priority of mine.

I find that podcasts give me the perfect opportunity to learn and to listen while I am driving or traveling. I have an hour commute every day (t0 and from the office) so unless I am making calls, I always fill that commute time with listening to podcasts.

Here are the 12 best podcasts about owning rentals:

1. The Real Estate Guys Radio Show

2. Get Rich Education

3. Sovereign Man

4. Invest Like A Boss

5. BiggerPockets Podcast

6. Millionaire Mindcast: Increase your income, impact and influence

7. Rental Income Podcast with Dan Lane

8. Turnkey Real Estate Investing

9. The Tim Ferriss Show

10. Success Insider

11. Nomad Capitalist Live

12. The Smart Passive Income Podcast

Right now, I spend the most time listening to The Real Estate Guys Radio Show and Get Rich Education. Both shows host big names and big time investors. I love listening to the interviews and the perspectives of the hosts.

If you had to start with one episode first of all of the podcasts I've shared, I would highly recommend episode 1 of Get Rich Education titled Your Abundance Mindset.

With all of the information that is out there and available to everyone for FREE, few actually take the time to learn from these resources. I believe this is due to a fear mentality, or a mindset that's telling you that you can't. In order to make a real change in your life, you have to change your mindset.

Even with new information, if you look at it like a downloaded program but it's installed on a faulty software it's not going to operate right, or even play at all.

My suggestion to everyone starting out is to ask yourself "why not me" and focus on an abundance mindset. Once you have your abundance mindset, then start adding in free tools which will allow you to take action on your new goals.

I would love to hear about more podcasts that others are loving. Most of the podcasts I'm listening to came as recommendations from others, so please share any that you've found interesting!

  1. Thanks Jennifer.  I have recently started listening to Bigger Pockets after getting more interested in the idea of rental property investing.  I am very much a newbie in this area and am trying to learn the lingo and get a basic understanding while I save for a downpayment.  I really like listening to the podcasts in the personal finance arena.

I enjoy Paula Pant from "Afford Anything" who talks a lot about mindset, productivity and also real estate (I had never cared much for that until more recently).  I also enjoy listening to "So Money" with Farnoosh Torabi and "Her Money" with Jean Chatzky.  There are also some podcasts that read posts from certain areas, e.g., "Optimal Living Daily," "Optimal Finance Daily," etc.  Those are nice because they select from a variety of blogs and are 4-8 minutes a piece.  I also am a total fan of YNAB, You need a Budget, which is financial budgeting software that I use for my personal planning as well as to understand my business better.  YNAB has a podcast with short snippets that I find interesting.  It makes planning much more purposeful and conceivable.

  2. Jennifer - This is a great list of podcasts!  Most of them are on my list as well, and a few new I'll have to check out.  A few others that are excellent and practical down to business include Joe Fairless - Best Real Estate Investing Advice Ever: this is a daily show with an extraordinary amount of information and education, I'm finding it hard to keep up!   Bill Manassero - Old Dawg's REI Network; FlipNerd REI Expert Interviews;  Kathy Fettke of Real Wealth Network has two podcasts:  Real Wealth Show and Real Estate News for Investors; Passive Real Estate Investing - Marco Santarelli;  Kevin Bupp's Real Estate Investing for Cashflow; The Investability Podcast - Dennis Cisterna; and Old Capital Real Estate Investing  - Michael Becker and Paul Peebles focus on multifamily from a commercial lender perspective.

So many great teachers out there!

    1. @Carolyn Lorence  I love Joe's podcast!!
