You’re reading this probably means you and your family is suffering from bed bugs infestation in your home.  The scratching because of the itching and pain from bed bug bites must be uncomfortable and annoying.  Loss of sleep probably makes you tired and uneasy.

Maybe you already tried supermarket ant-bed bug products with no success.  Even your grandmother’s home remedies had no affect at all.  Now is the time to consider hiring a professional pest solution expert to get rid of the bed bugs once and for all.

How big is the bed bug problem in the U.S.?

Hundreds of thousands call pest exterminators in the U.S. every year asking for help with killing bed bugs.  As a result, the Pest World Organization published an article about the fact that Bed Bugs Infestation Spikes During the Summer Months. Research of bed bugs infestation

The 2015 Bugs Without Borders survey performed by the University of Kentucky and the National Pest Management Association revealed that bed bug infestations continue across the U.S. at very high rates.  Pest control professionals reported 99.6% increase in bed bug infestation treatments over the past year.  Just 15 years ago the bed bug problem was only reported by 25% of these professionals.  The Pest World Organization also reports significant increases in bed bug infestations over the past decade.

Bed bugs are reddish brown, flat oval shaped, with short thick antennae, wing like shapes on the sides of their heads, and yellow-white color.

How do bed bugs survive?

Some people mistakenly believe they survive on food and water.  In reality, bed bugs feed on human blood.  That is why you will experience bed bug bites on your skin.  One host can provide them with sufficient nourishment for a year from just one feeding.  Human blood allows them to grow and to reproduce.  Without blood, bed bugs will die.

Hire a professional

The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a website explaining the importance for hiring a professional bed bug exterminator in order to make sure they are completely wiped out.  The title, “Hiring a Pest Management Professional for Bed Bugs” speaks for itself.  The EPA recommends hiring professionals using “IPM” which includes monitoring for bugs missed during the last treatment.  The EPA also recommends hiring a “Pest Management Professional (PMP) as soon as possible”.  The PMP may take apart furniture if necessary during the inspection and will use heat, vacuums, and pesticides to eradicate the bed bugs and their nests.

Keep up with industry research studies performed by leading entomologists and bug elimination experts.  Follow the latest technologies and industry trends in bed bug extermination.
