The Moment Money Matters - Direction Of Social Media

Once upon a time MySpace ruled the planet as the number one social media outlet. We have come a long way and a lot has changed but a lot has stayed the same. Social media is a way for people to express themselves, stay in touch and of course...market themselves. At this point in social media, Facebook is still the dominant player along with Instagram. The baby boomer generation has taken a liking to both so when marketing to these networks, you are still able to touch people that have the majority of the wealth and expendable income. As they grow older, this will shift to a point where the majority of social media is used by millennial's. At that time, the wealth will have shifted from one generation to the next and social media advertisers and new companies will take over. It would be hard to get the baby boomer generation on another social media platform within the next 10 years, so Facebook and Instagram will probably be the last dominant ones for this cycle of social media to that generation.
