Branding - Everywhere Always

When people think of branding they either think of a business class they took in college or something their parents mentioned to them about Coca Cola when they were 17. No one has thought much about that concept beyond that. Branding is something that people just assume is done on a national level and the ultimate platform is the Super Bowl. The reality is, branding is done from the smallest business to the largest. The reason it tends to be overlooked is because it is more subtle than direct marketing. Branding is about having a client familiar with your product by seeing it all the time. The catchy ring tones by Intel or Swoosh by Nike are examples of things that are familiar to most. This idea can be applied at a regional and local level by making sure that you are constantly placing consistent visual and audio ideas in front of your audience. If someone is interested in your product, be sure to stay in front of them. You do not want to have a client rotate around the revolving door and never hear from or see you again. It is all about them recognizing you and being comfortable with your brand when they decide to engage you for business.
