Hard Money Bankers - Too Much Education Is Bad

Classroom education is a funny thing. Classroom education brings knowledge and text book awareness to people. It allows for an environment to produce a controlled and concentrated learning experience. The issue that we have run into is that the American Education System has programmed most people to feel too comfortable in a classroom. What I mean by this is that some people end up spending the majority of their lives in a classroom and not in the real world. In real estate investing, people tend to find themselves getting stuck in seminar classes created by so called "gurus". People opt into this primarily because it is their comfort zone and no risk has to be taken. They spend their dollars on the education just as they did in college. There is nothing wrong with getting a higher education but it absolutely must have an end goal and should be balanced with real world activity, especially in real estate investing. When people fall into the trap of their safety zone classroom , they fail to take chances in the real world. The classroom should be a tool to propel people forward into the real world and not a safety blanket when inner fears of leaving the environment are too strong. There is a balance between the realm of classroom and real world. Everyone needs to find what works for them in this situation but be careful not to fall too far into the desk seat listening to lectures if your true end game is to get out on the battle field. Soldiers train in a classroom at boot camp but the real applications to their training are learned on the field. It is important to learn and absorb knowledge but be sure you have finite amount of time in this phase that is already predetermined .
