Underwriting - The Story Of Credit

People always ask about how credit plays a roll in getting money for their deals. All banks or lenders underwrite differently but the general gist of why people look at credit is to determine a story. Credit can tell someones life story with numbers and time lined bench marks. In short, if someone is highly leveraged there is a lot of risk that shows on their credit report because if one card falls, it could bring the house down. It also shows if someone is not paying their bills so an underwriter would say 'well why are they going to pay me back if they aren't paying people now?'. There is a story and it is not always about the score itself. There is much more to it.
