Hard Money Bankers - The Dreaded Eviction

An eviction in real estate investing is not something anyone wants to go through. It is certainly one of the ugly parts of the business, but if you are in it long enough, you have to face it. Evictions are usually preceded by an ugly turn of events by both the tenant and landlord. It usually leads to a landlord being emotionally wrapped up in a situation that they don't want to be in. My suggestion is to remember that this is business. This is about one thing and one thing only....making money. If you believe it is about something else, you should not be a landlord or investor. With that said, have a procedure in place in the event that your tenant is not paying rent or is in breach of lease. Do not get into heated battles. Make sure you follow your procedure and lease to religiously and always use an attorney for your evictions. Yes it is more expensive, but it is the cost of doing business and will keep you from mentally being as worn out if you are not fighting these battles.
