Late Nights

I should have started this blog when I knew absolutely nothing about real estate. But here I am starting now early enough that I'm writing before I have even found my first DEAL!

Just to introduce myself I am Tayler LaChapelle-Brown! I decided to dive head first into real estate investing by first reading books, watching podcasts, forums, youtube videos, and anything I could get my hands on or access on the web! I want to say HOLY $#*T!!!!! There is so much info you can find on the web that you can really self teach yourself on how to do or be anything! Anyone who thinks they have to pay $1000s of dollars to gurus to learn how to do something is INSANE when its free to learn whatever!

2 weeks ago I decided to become a real estate investor. At the time I was working a full time job at Hobby Lobby making $15/Hr. Not too bad for a 20 year old who never went to college. It was also the most money I have made from holding a job. WHY WOULD I LEAVE?! Well, I've never been the type to work for anyone else besides myself. I have always been a hustler coming up with money when I needed to. I created small businesses like landscaping, Christmas light installations, and painting houses. They have actually been way more successful than I expected. Craigslist has been my best friend since I have been 15. All of my business was from receiving calls about my services with lead to creating MULA! I could be the best in any of my small businesses I created but I wasn't really passionate about those businesses, I just did it more for the money.

I am in the real estate business because I have never felt like this. Right now it's 2:44AM in Minnesota. This is the 6th night in a row I will not be going to bed before 3AM. I distanced myself from friends, not because they are bad people but because my thought process now is different. We don't have the same goals in life and if I continue to hang out with them everyday it will slow my process of becoming successful. I think it it highly vital for any new investor or anyone wanting to be successful to start surrounding themselves with like minded people that is why I love BP. They don't need to be physically with you they can be on this site and help you. With how many people on here, how are you not able to succeed? It surprises me how much I have learned from two weeks ago until now. Since I've decided to go full time in real estate investing, I have had the time to read and listen to way more podcasts which just completely excelled my learning compared to if I was still working at a job.

Im at a point where I can actually help other people out through the forums. I advise anyone to learn as much as they can and then go to the forums and try to answer questions. You will be surprised at how much you actually know and its actually a huge confidence builder for me. But all this learning would be a waste if I took no action to my investing career. To be specific I am a wholesaler. I just bought the service Rebogateway and would suggest it to anyone wanting to find motivated sellers.

I am going to mail out my list tomorrow. It's not too big of a list, so I will hand write my letters to each seller. I actually hear that this technique is more effective than any other way, but once your mailing list turns into 2000 it gets hard to do each one by hand so I see why some services like Yellow Letters were created.

Update my blog tomorrow about how mailing process went. Hope to stay consistent, if not apologize in advance. For sure I will post big things happening like getting a call from a seller!

See you next time!
