Power Team??? or Jack of all trades!!!

We all can't be Jack of all Trades.  Why jnot?  Genetics for one.

I break the team down different than most.  First of all number one, I call the Face. He or She make the calls, eat lunches, drink drinks (not necessarily in that order).  They generate leads, win clients and get deals.  That's all they do. Why? Because they hate paperwork.

Next comes Hannibal, your solution and negotiation worker, creative, aggressive, improvise, adapt and overcome.  Doesn't hate people, doesn't love paperwork.  They bring the Hatfields and the McCoy's to the table with terms that they can live with.

B.A. Baracus - Your nuts and bolts person.  Possibly introverted. Likes schedules. Hates surprises. Keeps me out of trouble with the Real Estate Commission.  Gently reminds me to attend the closing.  Ensures that we are charged with a .05 fee instead of a .5.   That's all they do. Why? Maybe they are shy or maybe they hate people. Or violent.  Some are a combination of the above three.  The key is to determine which people are best suited for each part of your business.

What about pay. Should one be paid more than the others. Answer is YES.  Where is the balance.  Face will most likely get the least and with out Face there is no business for the rest to work on.  It is all about balance.  

If you are doing this in a partnership, then you had better have a Prenup. What if one member slacks off, communications begin to wane? What if the team of 3 becomes a team of 30?  The prenup is your way out.  Plan the divorce in advance.

Apply this to your business anyway that you want.  You need construction crews and foremen, hard money lenders, investors, wholesale buyers, title companies, real estate brokers and the list goes on.

I have been full time real estate broker and investor since 1974.  I have the scars to prove it.  I am 70 years old, I have fought in a major war, been shot at and missed, looked death in the eye on more that one occasion, and have been married to the same woman for 49 years.  I tell this to let you know that I am not not afraid of much.  Starting next month I will start taking 2 calls/week.  You will be able to ask me anything about real estate and I will give you guidance to the best of my ability.  You can reply below and we can schedule a time to make the call.  I think it is time for me to give back.  If I don't know the answer, I can certainly head you in the right direction.
