3 Real Estate Conferences Worth Attending
Whether you love them or hate them, conferences and seminars are a crucial part of your investment business. These events offer amazing learning opportunities and tons of networking, both of which will only help you grow as an investor.
Not all conferences are created equal, though. Some are chock-full of awesome stuff, while others simply aren’t worth your time. Here is, in my opinion, the real estate conferences that are worth your while to attend.
Single Family Rental Investment Forum
This conference took place in Miami last May, so you’ll have to start looking forward to 2018’s event, but it’s definitely one you’ll want to make note of. With a focus solely on single family investments, this is the conference for you if that’s your target property. The event usually has over 1,000 attendees, so the networking potential is insane. There are also well-known keynote speakers offering tons of advice and tips for you to start implementing immediately. Whether you’re into flipping or buy-and-hold, trust me when I say there’s something for you at the Single Family Rental Investment Forum.
Fortune Builders Real Estate Investing Seminar
Fortune Builders is a well-known name in the investment biz, and their 3-day seminar is perfect for new investors. With lectures on buy-and-hold strategies, how to raise private money, and much more, this is a great informational conference, so be ready to learn. A word of caution, however: Fortune Builders is also trying to convince you to buy into their Mastery Coaching program, which comes with a hefty price tag. If you’re not interested in a sales pitch, just go into it with the mindset that you’re there to learn, and learn only, and absorb all you can without being influenced by the sales side of it.
The Investor Forum
The Investor Forum is a 2-day event that features both keynote speakers and workshop sessions for attendees. When you register, you can pick which sessions you’re interested in, which is great because most of these workshops are highly detailed, niche sessions. So if you’re hoping to learn more about say, offshore investing or joint venture partnerships, you can sign up for exactly that. Note: The Investor Forum takes place in Canada, so unless you’re Canadian, you’re going to need your passport. Don’t let this deter you, though. There’s tons of great info here, and compared to other events, the registration fee is fairly inexpensive.
Conferences offer a great way for you to continue your education in real estate investment. The more you learn about the industry, the better off you’ll be, and the strategies and other takeaways from these events can be extremely beneficial to your business. The other major advantage of these is, of course, the networking opportunities they provide. Be sure to take your business cards, because you will be swapping them with other investors and industry professionals. The connections you make here can become lifelong partners and friends who will help you learn, grow, and ultimately become a better investor.
