5 Podcasts You Should Be Following

If you are one of the millions of Americans who already tune into a podcast each day, then you know how informative and entertaining they are. There is a huge variety of topics too, so no matter what your interests are, there is a podcast host out there talking about it. If you’re reading this blog, then we already know two of your interests: investing and making money. While there are a number of investment/finance podcasts worthy of a listen, we’ve rounded up what we feel are some of the best. Here are the podcasts you should be following to learn more about the market, investment strategies, and different ways you can build personal wealth.

  1. 1. BiggerPockets Podcast – This podcast is rated number one on iTunes, and with good reason. Covering a range of real estate investment topics, hosts Brandon Turner and Josh Dorkin offer tons of advice and strategies each week. The best part about all this? These are extremely usable tips that you can apply to your own investment business easily. The BiggerPockets podcast is great for both experienced and newbie investors, and the strategies and market insights that are discussed will help you hone your skills and keep up to date with what’s going on in the industry.
  2. 2. The Disciplined Investor – As the Disciplined Investor, Andrew Horowitz has the knowledge and experience to back up the advice he hands out on his podcast. Financial security, wealth building, and investment advice are Horowitz’s focus areas, and his strategies are designed to help investors of all experience levels. He offers practical suggestions and tips for making smart investments that will pay off and help you gain better control of your unique financial situation.
  3. 3. Epic Real Estate Investing – This blog is, in a word, epic. The host, Matt Theriault, is all about making your money work for you, and using it to build your cashflow. He does not advocate for stockpiling funds in a savings account, but rather using it to purchase real estate and create other streams of revenue. Theriault doesn’t shy away from delving into the tough areas or challenging popular beliefs regarding finances, which is part of the reason he’s become such a well-known figure in the invest-o-sphere.
  4. 4. Money Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for a Richer Life – Don’t have a lot of time? At just 12 minutes per episode, Laura Adams’ “Money Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for a Richer Life” is just what you need. Fun and informative, Adams provides real-world financial advice based on her own experiences, what she sees on social media, and listener feedback – all of which you can use in your own life right away.
  5. 5. Entrepreneur on Fire – Interested in what other entrepreneurs are saying? You should be. Host John Lee Dumas is one of those entrepreneurs, and he’s experienced both failure and success, giving him a real-life, well-rounded perspective on making a business work. In this daily podcast, Dumas discusses the pieces necessary for success with other entrepreneurs, concluding with an entertaining “lightning round” that highlights pieces of wisdom you can apply to your own business.

Bonus: Like a Mother with Emma Johnson – As the host of Like a Mother, Emma Johnson speaks to all the busy people in the world who are trying to balance it all – work, home, kids, money. While women make up the majority of her listenership, her no-nonsense advice about “having it all” is something that we could all use a bit more of – and she’s pretty darn entertaining, too!
