Who do you think you are?

In early September of this year, I got in my car to go to lunch. When I turned the car on I caught the tail end of the Del Wamsley radio program. He's a nationally syndicated radio host and real estate investor, founder of a company called "Lifestyles Unlimited." I don't recall his exact message that day, but it reignited a desire and interest I've always had to invest in real estate. That evening I pulled a real estate investing book off my shelf that I had purchased a few years ago called "Investing in Real Estate" by Gary Eldrid. I highly recommend this book. It is not a "pump you up, make millions with no money down!!" book. It's almost a textbook type educational resource that walks the reader through every avenue of real estate investing including the important financial equations. I started to listen to past episodes of the Del Wamsley program, until I realized it was more of a motivaitonal program than it was educational. I searched for other REI podcasts to listen to on my commute until I eventually across BiggerPockets. I've since listened to probably 60 episodes and have committed myself to becoming a real estate investor. I'm a 37 year old father of four. Married for 13 years. I'm a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in English and an MBA. I'm a nursing home administrator and COO of a small healthcare company. I currently own two homes: my family's primary residence, and a home my wife and I purchased before we had kids that I currently rent out. The purpose of this blog is to document my adventures as a newbie in real estate investing. I hope it will motivate me to take action as I will feel some sort of accountability to my readers (if there are any). I hope it will motivate others to take action and see that this can be done and success can be achieved. I hope it will be a place where my readers and I can correspond and discuss ideas. So follow along and let's make this happen together.
