It's a Long Frigging Drive from Houston to Mobile

On Thursday, I was told I didn't have to be back in the field until the 20th. In less than 24 hours, that got changed to needing to be on site Monday morning, the 14th. If anyone wonders what my motivation is...it's the inability to make plans and keep them.

Friday I met a friend for lunch, but I left early to get him so I could drive for dollars on the way to pick him up. Found one absentee owner house and more neighborhoods I was interested in. It worked out perfect because I had to add a couple more zip codes to my list to complete the 2000 addresses I had paid for through yellow letters. I got my list later that day and learned how to use mail merge to transfer the list from Excel to Word. I printed the list on address labels and am waiting for my postcards to arrive,

Saturday was my birthday (45th year on the earth) and I spent most of the day cooking. My wife doesn't like to cook and she has weird allergies so I try and make eating for her as painless as possible. So I made two beef roasts, poached 6 chicken breasts, roasted a whole chicken, roasted 2 turkey breasts, made 24 paleo egg muffins, and made a ton of buckwheat. Most of it got frozen in 2 serving packs. To celebrate my birthday, the wife took me to our favorite fancy restaurant for steaks and martinis.

Sunday morning we woke up early, I packed and hit the road early. The whole 7 hour trip was listening to podcasts. I should be on land for a couple weeks, so I brought my labels, and the wife will forward the postcards to me once they arrive. I can't say enough how important it is to have your significant other believe in you and what you are doing.

Completed Tasks Friday, Saturday and Sunday:
Found another house driving for dollars.
Mailed yellow letter.
Printed 2000 labels for postcard mailers.
Bought 2000 postcard stamps. (There's probably an easier way to do this, but I haven't had time to research or talk to the bulk mail department of the USPS.)
Completed Law of Agency section of my real estate course.
