Home Sweet Home

It is good to be home, but it looks like it'll only be for a week before I have to head to Mobile, AL and then offshore. Yesterday I spent the drive listening to podcasts. I actually started listening from the most recent ones and I'm glad I did. 

Today will be researching neighborhood. I have an idea of where I want to focus, but I want to drive the neighborhoods to see how they are. I grew up in both areas; Clear Lake and Deer Park, Texas. 

I like Clear Lake because it's an older established neighborhood. It's not a fancy new cookie cutter planned community and the houses have charm and personality. The houses were built in the 1970's and they are perfect starter homes for young couples. 
Deer Park is also an older area that is close to all the refineries and plants in Pasadena, Texas. I think both would be great areas for rentals. They both have great school systems and both have held up as middle class neighborhoods over the decades. But, I am also very familiar with both areas and understand the economics of both.

Today is going to be fun.
