Well It's Official!

I received my official RE License today, I would show it to you but I look like a goon in the photo. While this is the first blog post, it has been a long process just to get this piece of plastic. I started taking my 75-Hour Course in August online and took my salesperson exam at the beginning of November. Many hours(75 to be exact) were spent in front of the computer screen trying to focus, when the distractions of life made it difficult to keep my eyes from wandering. But alas, I made it to the finish line and was able to pass my exam on the first try!

Now what...?

This is the moment when you realize that you have to go out there and get the clients. I was lucky enough, to already have a position with a great Rochester based RE Brokerage and have been working as a Transaction Coordinator for the past few weeks to learn the ins and outs of the industry and am slowly transitioning my way in to being a full-fledged agent. Which I would highly recommend to any new agents, start working in an administrative role to learn all of the intricacies that you would have never thought of, plus a lot of the time that means a paycheck, not commission :)

Anyways, this was just the first post to get the ball rolling. I am hoping to provide some entertainment to a few people on BP, but also some entertainment to myself as I find ways to learn from the bumps and potholes I am sure to drive over and maybe this will help so others don't make those same mistakes, but probably not. It seems like many of the common mistakes have to be made before you have any idea what to do. Try not to have too much pride and keep the door open for insight.

Well here goes nothing!

  1. Awesome that's great! I just got mine a few months ago. I would highly recommend looking for an investment friendly broker here on BP. Make sure that you're not settling with your commission split, opportunities, and future.

I interviewed 4 and ended up with an AWESOME broker I met on here. I have learned more from him in a few months than I could have imagined.

I can wholesale, rehab, lease, and do retail listings.
