Get On Purpose And Stop Being Average
Everyone’s encountered that person who always knew what they wanted to do with their life—seemingly from moment one. It’s almost as if they were born knowing their purpose. You probably grew up with someone like this. By the third grade, they knew they wanted to be a doctor. When they were (finally!) able to choose their own classes, they immediately chose classes like biology and anatomy. And before they finished their sophomore year in high school, they knew where they wanted to go to medical school.
And that’s exactly what they did, and they never looked back.
Or maybe you chose where you went to college because your parents went there, or it provided in-state tuition. By the end of your freshman year, you were still undecided about what to major in. You had a vague notion about things you were interested in and what you might be good at, but you still weren’t certain. But the looming notions of graduation and “real life” forced you to close your eyes, pick something, and go with it.
So now that’s what you’re doing, despite the fact that what your finger landed on determined the rest of your life.
If you’re in the latter category, this article may help you clarify what you want to do when you grow up, even if you’re clearly well into adulthood.
Why do you get out of bed in the morning? What keeps you going throughout day? Do you have a burning desire to solve a specific problem? Or do you have a talent that you are constantly trying to perfect in yourself?
The answer to these questions may hold the key to finding your purpose. Once found, you will oftentimes have boundless amounts of energy pursuing your discovery.
My belief is that in some form or another, every human is put on earth to serve the human race. Many times when your purpose is found, you are helping others in some way.
In the workplace, it is common to see people who go to work but do not enjoy it. Who in their right mind wants to work 10 hours a day for in something they don’t love? I couldn’t even do it for 10 minutes.
But when you do find your purpose, become obsessed with it. Study people who paved the way before you. How did they get where you would like to be? Success leaves clues.

Hey Sterling!
Wow this article really hit me on the chest! One of the reasons for that is because when I used to go to school (HS) I wanted ( and still do ) to become something out of the norm. I want and I am going to be that person that everyone looks up to. It feels goods to contribute to other people while working for your self, not just at a job but more than that. I used to be in bad times in school, so one of the best things is to BE HAPPY.
Best,
Omar
