Looked at first property

Went to look at my first property. I got there early and waited about 20 minutes for the agent. People sitting around on every other step. In 20 minutes I probably saw 20 drug deals go down and heard several conversations about running from the cops. When the agent arrived, I told her to forget about it, I don't even want to see the inside. I'm not afraid of working class neighborhoods, BUT, it has to be the right pocket, and the 800 block of Somerset st. is NOT the right pocket.

  1. That's what I've been doing. The second one was an REO. They just gave me the lock box code and I went myself. The first two, I wouldn't have rejected them without seeing inside though.

  2. I'd suggest doing a drive by of future properties before asking an agent to show it to you.

  3. 3rd property. Asking 42. Comps about 60 to 80. Left before the agent got there. Didn't feel comfortable in the neighborhood and steps and sidewalk needed replacing and I saw a family of squirrels going in and out of holes in the spidering on the back bay. Another PASS

  5. Second property I looked at looked in really good shape in the Zillow pics. Nice hardwood floors, mirrored wall in living room. Oh, what pics can hide. Asking 60000 in a neighborhood selling about 110 -120. When I got there the beautiful hardwood floors were buckled up about 4 inches. The mirrored wall had several cracks. The kitchen was original from the 40s. All the pipes to the bath and kitchen were gone. Windows wouldn't open and there was water gurgling up from the floor in the basement. PASS
