Losing focus

Just wanted to share my thoughts with my fellow investors on the factors of losing focus along the way. As we are in the newer generation, we are faced with different issues, social media being one of them. It is literally the face of the world now. While there are positive aspects of social media. Boy oh boy are there some negatives. No, I am not bashing social media, just sparking some thoughts on how to overcome distractions throughout the day. What are some of your tactics to staying focused?.. I'll start mines with coming up with a "Action List". Emails, Phone calls, Meetings etc. I place it all on the list and attack it for at least 3-4 hours.

  1. Very True Alramar, you should check out the book "Focus" By: Daniel Goleman (He also wrote "Emotional Intelligence" and "Social Intelligence", both worth the time to read and digest)

  2. An action plan/to do list is absolutely essential no matter what you're trying to accomplish.  Daily/weekly/monthly/yearly.

As for social media maybe I'm just old and cranky but I just don't see the point.  I don't care what you had for breakfast or who you think is going to win "Dancing with the Stars".  And Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, which was brilliant for its' brevity, still wouldn't fit into a tweet.

Turn off the phone, shut the door, close the blinds, and focus.
