Unplanned Projects

One thing I've always prided myself on is having rentals I would live in... in fact, with the exception of our latest 4-plex purchase we have lived in all of our rentals. So when we discovered the original brick chimney plastered over in the entry of the unit we're renovating, it didn't take long to decide we were going to unearth it and clean it up as an accent wall. The downside?  I spent about 6 hours yesterday scraping away 110-year-old plaster and I'm still not quite done. Sometimes I wonder if its a gift or a curse we develop such a personal attachment to our units. At least the wall is turning out nicely!

  1. Look on the plus side - it should have taken longer to carry out the plaster than scrape it :-)
