Never Be Too PROUD To Listen and Learn!

The old saying goes, "good help is hard to find." But I am of the mindset that if you keep diligently networking and reaching out to others about what it is you are looking for, the answers or in this case the people will arrive. Finding contractors that want to work and need to work can be a factor in this. I have a crew in place now that is handling the demo. We are dealing with plaster and lathe. There are portions of the plaster that are in good shape. But 5 rooms will need drywall on every wall. Most of the ceilings are in good shape.

One of the best things that I have done (and continue to do for myself and for my business), is to share with others what is is that t I do.  I tell them about business and little bit about the project we are currently rehabbing. I let people know that we are looking for: good tenants,  buy-and-hold and fix/flip properties, and that we are always looking for great workers. Word-of-mouth is extremely effective and powerful. One of my goals- to give a business card with everyone I meet.

I'm ordering a 30 yard dumpster today for $444. I'm able to keep it for 7 days. I was going to run two trips with the truck and trailer to the dump. It sounded like a smart plan... But actually... Not so much! A great friend (and mentor) of mine reminded me of the VALUE of my time. I have to drive 45 minutes one way to the dump. Times that by four, at least. Factor in the time it takes to load the trailer and unload the trailer. Add in downtime for the workers I am paying. Another important reminder: have wise mentors! I can be stubborn and think I know it all. I'm grateful to have people in my life who recognize this weakness of mine and assist me in overcoming it.
