Outsource Your Physical Mail: Using TravelingMailbox
One of the ways that we as people hold stress is by questioning whether we have forgotten something or not. The complexity of work, family life, daily living, and all other contributors to your "to-do" list often make us wonder whether we have forgotten or missed something.
Think about it. You have dozens of sources of inputs into the systems in your life. Missed calls, text messages, voicemail, usually 2 or 3 different emails, social media updates and messages, the images you screenshot, piled up papers in your car, the business card you put into your wallet and forgot about, your google or outlook calendar, the sticky notes all over your desk, your home mailbox, etc. All with differing levels of importance, deadlines, and things you need to do before you can "process" them.
The thought of having to check each and every location, track every bit of it, in order to make sure you don't miss "that one important thing" is daunting, and it stressed me the heck out. So I've gotten rid of one of those boxes, my home mailbox with Uncle Sam.
With the help of TravelingMailbox.com, I've rerouted all my mail to a separate address. They receive my mail, take a picture of it, and send me an email asking if I want to open it. If I do, they'll scan the contents and let me read it. I can then decide to have them forward it to me, shred it, cash a check, or just hold onto it for now. No more piling up on the kitchen counter, no more wondering where I put that notification from the IRS, its all in one place online, able to be accessed from anywhere.
Since outsourcing my mailbox, life is a little simpler. I don't worry about losing an important notification, or having to scan important documents myself. I stop fighting with my significant other because I leave my mail all over the house. and most importantly, I can breathe a bit easier knowing that at least one part of life/business is on autopilot.
