New Sarasota County Flood Maps, Part 2

As a follow up to my last post about flood zone changes in South Venice, here is an update for 2016 proposed flood zones for the greater Venice area.


The darker green is the existing AE flood zone, which requires flood insurance if you have a federally-backed mortgage on your property. The lighter shades are the proposed changes to the AE flood zone.

Of note in this map is the increased AE zone coverage in many of the Venice golf course communities.
