Building a Marketing Machine – Part 2, Networking

Normal 1454339369 Networking 4 1024x768

Networking: to interact with other people to exchange information and develop contacts, especially to further one’s career.

In today’s modern world, networking has become extremely easy and a no-brainer due to the availability of so many different platforms. In the traditional sense, live real estate investor networking events have popped up in just about every area of the country. There are National Real Estate groups, local meet ups and gatherings, and sponsored events from many Gurus. You can easily find these events on the National REIA website (nationalreia.com), Meetup.com, BiggerPockets Events & Happenings Forum (biggerpockets.com/forums/521-events-and-happenings), by joining a local real estate investor group on Facebook or LinkedIn or by asking another local real estate investor.

Over the past decade, the internet has proven to play an extremely large role for investors and their ability to network with people from anywhere in the world. Resources such as Facebook, LinkedIn, chat forums, blogs, podcasts, etc. have taken the main stage and attract millions of people to take part and learn about real estate investing from one another. The larger your network, the greater the wealth of knowledge for you as an investor. Take a look at BiggerPockets, they have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people scouring their website and exchanging information on a regular basis.

No matter how new or experienced you are, I’m a big advocate of networking on a consistent basis. In PART 1 of this series, I talked about the role that consistency plays in gaining momentum in your business, and this is no exception. There are so many ways to benefit from this area of marketing which will help you develop as an investor and business owner. Not to mention the chance to meet some great people along the way. These reasons and the fact that I love sharing information are why I started a quarterly networking event in my area.

I wrote more on this topic in a previous post and want to link back to it because the concept is so crucial to building a successful marketing plan. Take a look at it HERE.

I’ll be diving into online/social media in Part 3 of this series.
