How to supercharge your direct marketing IQ

Earlier this week I saw a question in the forums that asked about scripts for a direct marketing campaign. In the last 3 months I have been reading everything possible on direct response marketing, and copywriting. This list of book will most certainly improve your selling ability when using written words.

After I read these books my first opportunity to sell using the techniques I had learned was not even related to real estate.

Since I am about to move cross country I needed to sell my ice cream truck, because for the price of shipping it across the country I can buy another one if I want to.(Yes, I have an ice cream truck, and I feel it’s the best kept business secret for anyone who wants to quit a job and work for themselves fast, or have a business on the side to make extra cash)

Anyways, I drafted a craigslist ad using the techniques I combined from all the books. Not only did I have leads burning up my phone, I had people calling me just to say that they were not even looking for an ice cream truck, but my ad had inspired them so much, that they now wanted to get in the ice cream truck business.

What did my ad do?

It told a story. A story that motivated many readers enough to take action and call me.

It motivated individuals that had never even thought about an ice cream truck to want to be in the business, and most importantly it got my product sold in days.

To put it simply I didn't talk about the ice cream truck, I talked about what the ice cream truck could do for the reader based on my experiences.

How valuable would your direct marking ads be if they could motivate people who had no intention of buying, to call you up and buy your property? or call you up to sell you their property.

After reading these books, I am confident I can sell anything.

And I am in the process of implementing everything I have learned into my real estate activities.

Now that I think about it, I will have to put a list of books together for what to do when you actually meet the buyer in person, because that is a whole separate mountain of reading.

Subscribe to my blog if you want to be updated on that :)
